Ear Read This: Podcasting on Plath

There’s nothing like diving into a new podcast – and of course, here at #PlathFest, we love listening to well-researched, thought-provoking episodes about Sylvia Plath’s work and life. That’s why we’re delighted that the wonderful Ash Caton of the ‘Ear Read This’ series will be our in-house festival podcaster!

‘Ear Read This’ is an Edinburgh-based literary podcast focused on critical appreciations of classic and modern literature. It features in-depth interviews with academics, authors, and performers. Recently Ash has devoted multiple episodes to Plath’s poetry and fiction, with more to come! Several of these episodes feature scholars and writers that we’ll be featuring at the festival, including Gail Crowther on The Bell Jar (watch), Amanda Golden on The Colossus (watch), and Emily van Duyne on “The Jailor” (watch).

Watch Ash’s fascinating interview with Gail Crowther on The Bell Jar via YouTube:

And there’s more to come! Subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss Ash’s upcoming interviews with PlathFest participants Dorka Tamás, Peter K. Steinberg, and our Director Sarah Corbett. And this October keep an eye (and ear!) out for Ash at the festival: he’ll be roving and recording around Hebden Bridge and Heptonstall.

You can watch ‘Ear Read This’ on YouTube here or listen to the show in audio format through any major podcast provider; here are links to Podbean and Spotify. Follow the podcast on Twitter here. Enjoy!
