Kathryn Gray’s The Never-Never was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and the Forward Prize for Best First Collection. A pamphlet, Flowers, was published by Rack Press in 2017, and Voices and Visions: Interviews with the Contemporary English-Language Poets of Wales appeared from Peter Lang in 2019. Her second collection, Hollywood or Home, will be published by Seren in 2023. With Andrew Neilson, she co-edits the digital poetry journal Bad Lilies.
Kathryn Gray and Andrew Nelson conceived the digital poetry journal Bad Lilies during last year’s winter lockdown, with an aim to showcase the finest new poetry in English, ranging in technique and subject matter. Since its launch in April 2021, the journal has featured major voices and striking emergent talent from the UK, the US, and beyond, and is rapidly developing in popularity and reach.
In this special event, the editors will be joined by recent contributors to Bad Lilies for readings and some lively discussion on the possibilities, delights, occasional trials, and growing significance of digital journals.

‘Kathryn Gray’s poetry is delightfully accessible, intelligent, full of deftly rendered detail and attractive cadences. Somehow or other – through sheer talent and instinct, I would say – she has established a convincing and utterly contemporary balance of fragility and assurance.’ — Douglas Dunn”
On Bad Lilies: ‘We need the sort of open-mindedness and generosity Bad Lilies embodies more than ever. A great achievement.’ — Ian Duhig
